NEWS Novell claims to have found a "security hole" in Active Directory, the much-touted network management tool in Windows 2000. The problem allegedly affects a user's rights to access certain restricted areas of a network. Novell engineers claim to have discovered the problem while testing software compatibility with the operating system. Active Directory is a component technology in Windows 2000 Server that allows system administrators to manage resources and security across a corporate network. Microsoft has denied the existence of the security bug.
