By Tony Hallett, 7 March 2000 17:32

NEWS Network Appliance has won a deal to supply its network storage products to Infineon Technologies, formerly Siemens' Semiconductor Group. Financial details of the UK contract have not been disclosed. However, the companies have revealed NetApp clinched the deal in the face of competition from Sun Microsystems. NetApp cited its F740 Filer product's ability to store multiprotocol data on one appliance, meaning simplified management. Infineon will use the Filers to offer access to 800Gb of NT and Unix data used in its semiconductor development programmes.
