By Dominic Maher, 31 March 2000 11:01

NEWS NetLedger, a US software house which provides accounting software to small businesses, has installed VA Linux servers in its new data centre in what VA claims is the largest Linux installation of Oracle in the world. The open source outfit will also be providing NetLedger with integration management services for the entire project. Network Appliance will be supplying the Network File System (NFS) for network-attached data management with Rainbow Technologies taking care of security. The accounting firm will be deploying its CryptoSwift software, which contains a public-key processor capable of encrypting up to 1,000 transactions in less than five milliseconds.
