NEWS Most system downtime is due to non-system errors, according to a report published by Sun Microsystems today. The report, called 'Availability - What it means, Why it's important, and How to improve it', found that 40 per cent of system downtime is due to human error while a further 40 per cent is due to improper operating procedures. The conclusion of the report is that companies, while addressing system security and other technical issues, are way off the mark when it comes to addressing downtime.
