NEWS Data storage giant EMC has reported revenue growth of 49 per cent for the first quarter of this year - more than double analyst's expectations. Total revenue was $1.82bn, up from $1.48bn for the corresponding period last year. Mike Reuttgers, president and CEO of EMC, said the increase was fuelled by customers expanding their ecommerce initiatives worldwide and needing storage products to support growth. He added that EMC has gained market share over its competitors for both storage systems and storage software.
