Apple takes Cube route into miniaturised market

NEWS Apple has launched the Power Mac G4 Cube - a miniaturised desktop computer - at the annual MacWorld expo held in New York. The 450MHz Cube features 64MB RAM, 20GB disk drive, a DVD drive and a 56K V.90 modem. The system runs on Apple's Mac OS 9. In a move to reduce noise output the eight-inch cube cools itself without needing a fan. Also included is Apple's iMovie 2 video editing software. Prices start from £1,249 and units will be available early August.
