Thomson joins Seagate for network storage

NEWS French IT conglomerate Thomson Multimedia and US-based storage supplier Seagate Technology have launched a joint venture company to develop network storage systems. The newly formed company, called CacheVision, will build the systems for consumer devices based on Windows CE. It will employ 100 engineers to customise functions on the CE devices as well as integrating disc drives, compression hardware and software and analog to digital conversion.
