AOL woos UK surfers with unmetered offering

AOL is to offer its UK customers flat-rate internet access for £14.99 per month. The tariff will cover all call charges plus freephone customer support.

NEWS The move follows the high profile failure of unmetered access offerings from the likes of AltaVista and Lineone, which had to be withdrawn. AOL has previously said BT's charges make it too expensive for it to offer a flat rate package. The offer will initially be available only to existing AOL customers, but the company says it will roll out the service to all UK consumers as soon as it is viable.
