NEWS The gas-fired plant, near Heathrow airport, is needed because Scottish and Southern Electricity were not able to provide sufficient power in time. It would take 18 months for the company to sort out planning permission for pylons and lay cables. Gary Growns, MD and project leader for Guardian iT, said: "Our site is the largest around and in the timeframe we've got, with the electricity distribution rate we need for our expanding internal companies, we'd either have to delay entry into the market, or move premises. Both are unacceptable to us, so we will build our own plant."
