NEWS Shares finished trading at $57 7/16 last night, up from a previous low of $56 9/16. The figure is still a far cry from the company's year high of $115 a share. The chief US Appeals Court judge hearing the Microsoft vs Department of Justice case spoke out, claiming the company may not have had a monopoly in the internet browser market. Commenting on the review of the antitrust findings, Judge Harry Edwards said it was unclear whether Microsoft used its power to compete illegally. He claimed there were "sleights of hand about whether we're talking about a browser market" or "the platform market". The comments follow earlier criticism from the Appeals Court that findings by trial judge Jackson Penfold were unfounded.
