Linux underpins IBM-SAP tie-up

SAP and IBM are tying the knot on a deal that will bring Linux for IBM eServer zSeries to mySAP.com customers in the near future.

NEWS The German software giant said the announcement vindicates its decision back in early 1999 to support the Linux platform. In a statement, Dirk Hohndel, CTO SuSE Linux AG, said: "The early support of mySAP.com on Linux was a major breakthrough for Linux in the enterprise solutions space. Now, mySAP.com on Linux for IBM eServer zSeries proves the viability of Linux on multiple hardware platforms."
