Jobs eyes top of the class with an 'Apple for teacher'

Apple has announced the launch of a new range of lightweight notebook computers, hoping to cash in on its popularity in the education sector and turn around the company's flagging fortunes.

NEWS The new range, which is already selling to US schools, features a wireless networking capability, as well as wired network access. US prices will range from $1,300 for a computer with 64MB of memory and a CD-Rom drive, or a $1,800 version with double the memory and a DVD/CD drive. The new computers ship in May.
