NEWS Computer and services firm Unisys said yesterday that poor European sales are likely to affect the company's performance later this year despite meeting earnings forecasts for its second quarter. Unisys, based in Pennsylvania, US, recorded profits of $29.3m compared to $59.4m a year ago. After charges this quarter's earnings rested at $17.2m. Unisys CEO Lawrence Wienbach told the FT: "As customers delayed planned IT projects and reduced expenses during this period, we saw weak demand for our high-end enterprise server and systems integration business."
