NEWS StorageTek has joined forces with CRM software vendor, NCR, in a move to push further into the financial services market. The storage specialist will combine its ASM product, which allows data to be securely stored in different formats, with NCR's ImageMark software, which allows financial institutions to electronically store bank payment transactions and cheque images, for easy online recall. The combination already employed by Baltimore's Allfirst Bank and Chicago's Bank One, is hoped to reduce firms' dependency on costly legacy systems that use microfiche and optical storage.
