By Chris Holbrook, 14 August 2001 10:45

NEWS IT security firm Pointsec Mobile Technologies has inked a deal to supply software to safeguard 1,000 laptops used by Finnish telco Sonera. Pointsec will install software, initially on computers in Finland, with the plan to increase this to 6,000 machines in Sweden and Germany by the end of the year. Magnus Ahlberg, MD for Pointsec in the UK, said: "The technology encrypts everything stored on the laptop, so if it's stolen it's not worth more than the metal and plastic it's made from."
