NEWS Dell's former CTO Karl Schubert has joined start-up storage company Zambeel as senior vice president of engineering. During his time at Dell, Schubert led the company's enterprise storage business and defined key technologies and product directions for Dell's enterprise servers. Before joining Dell, Schubert spent 14 years at IBM as a technical executive. Schubert said in a statement: "For years, businesses have been asking for enterprise-class storage systems that scale to hundreds of terabytes while maintaining the management ease of a single appliance. Zambeel is focused on developing a network storage solution to meet this need." Zambeel is backed by venture firms Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, New Enterprise Associates, Integral Capital Partners and others. Zambeel is expected to issue more information about its products soon.
