NEWS Compaq's top technology officers have beaten their counterparts at HP to keep their jobs in the post-merger organisation. Chief technology officer Shane Robison and chief information officer Bob Napier came in ahead of HP rivals CTO Richard DeMillo and CIO Maurine Conway But while the technology jobs go to Compaq, HP personnel have clinched many of the top jobs in other departments. Bob Wayman, HP's CFO stays on, as does HP's head of global marketing, vice president of strategy, director of HP Labs, and head of human resources. HP's Vyomesh Joshi will lead the printing and imaging division, HP's Anne Livermore will head the consulting and services division, and Duane Zitzner, also with HP, will lead the PC and handheld division. Compaq's Peter Blackmore will lead the servers, storage and software division. Both companies will retain separate lawyers until the merger has been completed.
