NEWS IBM is claiming it's nearly earned back the huge $1bn investment it ploughed into Linux in 2001. Last year's investment was designed to bring Linux to all IBM servers, train staff and run marketing campaigns. A number of high profile announcements have seen Big Blue put its full force behind the operating system, including its work with grid computing and the Linux-only mainframe due to start selling in March. An IBM executive is expected to announce the figures at the LinuxWorld Conference and Expo in the US today.
