NEWS Apple claims it has sold almost 500,000 Macs equipped with SuperDrives - its CD and DVD-burning device. The SuperDrive features in the top- and mid-end of its PowerMac range for professional users and in the top-of-the-range flat-screen iMac. Apple is also bundling its consumer DVD-authoring software iDVD with all new Macs as part of its digital lifestyle drive. The company also said it has sold more than two million DVD-R disks since the start of the year. Apple first launched the SuperDrive in January 2001.
