Transmeta gets a new CEO

Matthew Perry - no, not the one in Friends

By Tony Hallett, 12 April 2002 08:00

NEWS Transmeta has named Matthew Perry as its latest chief executive. He replaces chairman Murray Goldman, who held the post at the company - known for its power-efficient processors - since October 2001. Perry joins from another chip firm, Cirrus Logic, where he filled various positions since 1995. The last full-time Transmeta CEO, Mark Allen, lasted seven months in the post, his service coinciding with a slump in the market for processors.
