EMC claims first round in Hitachi fight

Hitachi is on the ropes and EMC is throwing some legal haymakers...

NEWS Storage giant EMC has scored an early victory in its legal wrangle with Hitachi over alleged patent infringements. The company has persuaded the US government to look into banning from sale in the US the products EMC claims infringes its patents. The International Trade Commission - which rules on fair trade violations for the US government - is to investigate EMC's allegations against Hitachi. EMC is also privately suing Hitachi, and its storage subsidiary HDS, for stealing its intellectual property.
