NEWS Fujitsu has announced it is to start recycling the plastic casings of old PCs in new laptop models. Re-using the inner workings of PCs is nothing new but plastic recycling has typically meant converting PC casings into other household products. In Japan, Fujitsu Limited has teamed up with Fujitsu Kasei, Fujitsu Laboratories and plastic materials producer UMG ABS for the programme, which is in line with a law that came into effect in April last year. The Fujitsu FMV-BIBLO LOOX/S notebook PC, out in Japan around now, will be the first to benefit from the recycling process.
