Apple is preparing to launch an Intel-equipped, entry-level iBook at its MacWorld conference event in January, according to reports.
Veteran Apple watcher ThinkSecret is predicting that in addition to the starter iBook, Apple will drop prices among the existing iBook range to encourage more Windows to Mac switchers, citing reliable sources.
The site added that an Intel-ready Apple Power Book is not likely to debut in the same timescale.
However, at Apple's last big shindig Apple Expo in Paris Jobs said that the company was "on track" to ship products with Intel inside in June 2006.
Apple last updated the iBook range in July, adding new features including anti-drop protection and increased memory.
