Toshiba is offering massive laptop rebates if the England football team claims the World Cup trophy for the first time since 1966.
If the squad proves victorious - broken metatarsals notwithstanding - anyone who's bought a Toshiba laptop based on Intel Centrino Duo chip will get 66 per cent of the purchase price refunded, in "an unprecedented opportunity to benefit from the success of the national team in Germany".
Anyone wishing to take part in the promotion will naturally need to buy their new kit and register it at www.toshiba.co.uk/66 before the tournament kicks off on 9 June.
The electronics giant is the official IT sponsor of this year's Fifa World Cup.>

It is more acuarete to say that Toshiba is betting on England World Cup failure. They are atempting to sell more laptops, if it works and England lose it will cost them nothing, if England win then it will cost Toshiba a load of cash. Therefore they are betting against England.

Do you really think we stand a chance of winning the World Cup?
There are bucket loads of money back offers on at the moment from your England football shirt to your new HD ready 50" plasma TV.
Do you think these company's want to give away all this kit? If we had any real chance of winning noone would be offering these kind of deals.
It's just another marketing ploy being used to us all in.
Don't get me wrong I'd love England to win and see all these company's loose a small fortune, but how many real "English" companies are offering these kind of deals? Are consumers in other countries being exploited in the same way? Or are we just an easy target...?
