International law firm Eversheds has signed a £27m managed services deal which will see it hand over the management of its UK service desk and desk-side support along with the hosting of its data centres to Computacenter Services.
The law firm is working to improve its IT services and the deal with Computacenter, which will provide IT support services to 4,000 users across Europe and Asia, is aimed at accelerating this change.

The firm wants staff to be able to access core systems at any time, anywhere in the world, which Computacenter's Itil approved service will make possible.
Bryan Hughes, UK managing partner at Eversheds, said working with an external provider will allow the firm to have access to far greater resource and cutting-edge technology than if IT had remained in-house.
Computacenter Services will also help with several transformation projects including the consolidation of data centres into two Computacenter facilities, the implementing of a virtualised infrastructure and new storage and archiving systems.
The deal has seen 79 Eversheds IT staff move over to Computacenter Services. Malcolm Simms, IT director at Eversheds, said the remaining IT staff will now be free to work on more innovative tech projects.
