NEWS Imagex has unveiled a machine which removes photocopier toner from sheets of paper - effectively giving businesses their own means of recycling.
The decopier is currently under development and is due to be priced of £30,000.
According to reports, the decopier can clean 60 sheets of paper per second, and will pay for itself within 18 months, if 1,000 sheets are cleaned per day.
The cleaning process uses chemicals that have been developed by Imagex over the past two years. Security-conscious companies could also use this process for high-risk documents.
Once the toner has been removed, the paper can be reused in the normal way. Imagex claims the process can be repeated up to five times per sheet.
