NEWS Motorola has started work on the restructuring programme it announced last month by consolidating its communications division. The move comes as part of a project to refocus and reduce costs by cutting 15,000 jobs. Christopher Galvin, CEO of Motorola, claimed the company's recent financial results highlighted the need for a change in the communications business. He said the formation of "a more collaborative and market-focused" division will enable the company's separate divisions to share resources.
