In brief: Magellan puts satellite-based email in a handheld

NEWS The Magellan Corporation has unveiled a handheld device which allows users to send and receive email from anywhere in the world. The GSC 100 runs on a satellite-based messaging service, and has the ability to store details of where and when mail is sent from. Up to 200 of these locations can then be kept in memory for future reference. The GSC 100, measuring 8in by 3.5in by 7.5in, and weighing in at 2lb, will cost around $1,000 with an activation charge of $49.99 and a $29.99 monthly access fee.
