NEWS Broadcom has released a 'three-in-one' chipset which the company hopes will give a boost to the adoption of high-speed cable modems. The broadband networking equipment manufacturer is combining chips used to deliver TV signals and computer data. The move may reduce modem costs and at the same time allow download speeds of 56Mbps - 1,000 times faster than today's analogue 56Kbps modems.
