NEWS Nokia has predicted the number of subscribers to cellular phone services will reach one billion by 2005. The company made the prediction along with the announcement of strong third quarter results. Nokia estimates there to be around 250 million mobile phone subscribers globally at the moment. With 21 million customers so far, Nokia is the second largest mobile phone handset vendor after Motorola. The company said the majority of future subscribers will sign on to multimedia services.
