Palm Computing faces competition close to home

By Suzanna Kerridge, 9 November 1998 14:09

NEWS 3Com's Palm Computing division has put plans to launch the next generation PalmPilot on hold after two key executives resigned to start a competing handheld company. Donna Dubinsky and Keff Hawkins, former founders of Palm Computing, are set to launch HandSpring in the near future, but product plans have yet to be revealed. The move means the next PalmPilot - code-named Razor - will be delayed until early next year. Razor is expected to be slimmer than current versions and also offer an increased memory capacity of up to 4MB.
