NEWS Logica has won a contract worth almost $5m to upgrade the billing systems of Czech GSM operator, RadioMobil. Before now, RadioMobil has relied on proprietary technology to bill its mobile phone customers. RadioMobil's 'smart' mediation and billing systems speed up communications between its call network and billing network. They identify which type of service is being used and let the customer decide how to itemise their bills. Logica spokesman, Will Cameron, said the deal opens up the possibility of multiple services such as football scores and share prices. "It is an example of a relatively green-field site leapfrogging to technology that is cutting edge in the West," he said.
