NEWS Intel is to release five new notebook processors next week, including the Pentium II PE (Performance Enhanced), codenamed Dixon, and the first mobile Celerons. The Pentium II PE will run at speeds of 300MHz, 333MHz and 366MHz with a 256K secondary cache memory. Although the new chip has only half the cache memory of the current Pentium II chip, the constant feeding of data from its 'reservoir' enables it to communicate at twice the speed. The lower-end Celeron chips will run at 266MHz and 300MHz, with half the cache memory of the Pentium II PE.
