NEWS Mobile operator, One2One is the first UK mobile operator to begin trials of Ericsson's Universal Mobile Telecommunications Services (UMTS), a next-generation wireless technology. UMTS is expected to offer users multimedia services and high-speed Internet access over a mobile handset. One2One is the first UK service provider to sign up for the Ericsson test facility. The technology is a still long way from marketability - One2One and Ericsson are not expecting to roll out services before 2002.
