Symbian issues non-profit warning

By Suzanna Kerridge, 3 March 1999 17:23

NEWS Symbian, the mobile communications joint venture part-owned by Psion, has claimed it will move into profit in 2001. The company said it has a "long way to go" before it reached profitability and warned shareholders to prepare for substantial costs in the coming year. But Psion chairman, David Potter, denied this was a profits warning. Instead, he insisted business is "going to plan." Symbian formed last year as a joint venture between Psion, Ericsson, Nokia and Motorola.
