Unwired Planet unveils name change

NEWS Unwired Planet, which develops software enabling Internet access over mobile telephones, has changed its name to Phone.com. The company has simultaneously announced Reed Hundt, the former chairman of the US Federal Communications Commission, has been appointed to its board of directors. Hundt also serves on the board of Ascend Communications - which is being taken over by Lucent Technologies - and Novell, and is an advisor to other firms.
