NEWS Hewlett-Packard (HP) is acquiring Dazel Corporation, provider of information delivery software, in an undisclosed deal. Focusing on their Digital Workplace program, Dazel's Output Server will become part a wholly owned subsidiary of HP's LaserJet Imaging Systems Group. The Output Server plugs into network management systems, such as OpenView and Tivoli, and provides companies with an infrastructure that allows users to share documents across the enterprise regardless of the business application that it is running. Bill Brock will remain as Dazel's president but will report to Rich Raimondi, HP's senior vice president of HP LaserJet Imaging Systems.
