NEWS German airline, Lufthansa, has opened an Internet store, selling over 300 products. The store, called SkyShop, is based on Intershop 3 Hosting Edition software from ecommerce vendor, Intershop Communications. The opening marks the 10,000th store Intershop has helped to set up. SkyShop offers personalised discounts to users and Secure Socket Layer security for credit card payments. According to the firm, it sells exclusive travel accessories from hard-shell suitcases to jewellery made from old aeroplane parts, all from Cologne, Germany. Earlier this week, Lufthansa was ranked the best of over 100 multinational Web sites in a survey by the London School of Economics.
