NEWS Lucent Technologies has licensed the ARM9E processor core from UK chip design firm, ARM. The telecoms infrastructure and chips provider said its goal is to improve its system-on-a-chip offerings for storage system manufacturers. Earlier this week, ARM saw its 32bit ARM710T processor ship with Psion's new Series 5mx handheld computer.
