NEWS Hewlett-Packard (HP) has again left itself open to criticism by attempting to block Nu-Kote Holding from providing refills for HP cartridges. Nu-Kote refills provide customers with a cheaper alternative to expensive replacement cartridges. The small US company offered 'refilling stations' for HP cartridges. However, HP redesigned its cartridges and announced that the refilling system no longer works. According to HP, the step was taken to protect its reputation for high quality printing. Nu-Kote, now bankrupt, will be returning to court this week following a federal judge's decision that HP may be guilty of antitrust violations.
