NEWS Symbian's EPOC operating system may soon find its way onto Sharp handhelds, according to a report from Reuters, Japan. The report claims the deal will see the OS incorporated in the Japanese company's Zaurus machine - called the DHC 4600 in Europe - from the start of next year. Sharp has yet to confirm the reports. Along with companies such as Casio, HP and LG, Sharp currently uses Microsoft's Windows CE OS on handhelds. Symbian is a joint venture made up of Psion and leading mobile phone manufacturers Ericsson, Matsushita, Motorola and Nokia. Sharp was unavailable for comment.
