Wildfire adds voice control to Orange

NEWS Three million Orange subscribers can now ask their mobile phones to dial numbers, play voicemail messages and check for faxes, thanks to the introduction of voice activation software from Wildfire Communications. The Orange 'cybersecretary' is based on the Wildfire technology currently used by PacBell and Bell Canada. Chris Hart, European managing director at Wildfire, said: "It's about making telecoms friendly and easy to use. We expect it to be popular for power users and people who travel around a lot." Wildfire is available now for a one-off connection fee of £10. Outgoing calls made using Wildfire are charged at normal service plan rates.
