NEWS The Autobytel Web site in the UK, a fully owned subsidiary of Inchcape, now imports more Ferraris than the luxury car giant sells in its own country. The site has attracted around 350,000 visitors with some 3,700 requests for purchases. Refocusing itself as a global motor trader, Inchcape is in talks with Autobytel US with a view to open online dealerships throughout Europe and Asia. Inchcape's profits for the six months to the end of June fell just under 20 per cent to £53m with pre-tax profits standing at £276m compared to £69m in the previous year. Inchape runs the UK arm of Autobytel under a 20 year licensing agreement.
