Motorola to open $100m R&D centre in Turin

NEWS Motorola is to set up a $100m research and development centre for cellular telephony in Turin, Italy. The centre will centralise Motorola's personal communications product development processes for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. Motorola claims it will develop products that are specifically tailored for European consumers. Italy has one of the highest penetration rates of mobile phones in Europe and Motorola said at a press conference that it is also the most innovative market.
