By Dominic Maher, 5 October 1999 16:23

NEWS QMS is offering a sub-$1,000 laser colour printer in an effort to take a larger slice of the monochrome upgrade market. The Magicolour 2 offers 600 x 600 dpi resolution and print speeds of up to 4 pages per minute in colour and 16ppm in black and white. It will be priced at $999 - $300 less than the list price - with the offer lasting until the end of the year. Meanwhile, QMS has also announced 50 job losses from its US operations.
