Mexx connects employees to data through WAP devices

NEWS Dutch clothing retailer, Mexx, is set to give employees and partners access to its global business systems via mobile phones and PDAs (Personal Digital Assistants). The retailer has signed up ebusiness specialist, Seagull, for the project. The first move will be to connect Mexx's mobile sales force to data stored in its AS/400 based systems using WAP-enabled (Wireless Application Protocol) mobile phones. Mexx employs around 1,500 worldwide and has stores in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia.
