Lineo ports Linux to PDAs

NEWS Embedded Linux developer, Lineo, has ported the open source operating system to handhelds, whilst retaining support for Windows CE applications. According to Bryan Sparks, CEO of Lineo, Embedix PDA is designed to gradually lure developers away from the Microsoft Windows CE environment. Lineo has also announced the proposed opening of a development centre in Seattle which will head up product development of the Embedix PDA. The centre will open in March this year while Embedix is expected to be released at the beginning of 2001.
