NEWS British Airways and US business-to-business travel systems provider, GetThere.com, are to build a portal for the UK's small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The site will be hosted by GetThere.com, and will offer a range of services and features previously only available online to large companies. The portal lets SMEs book discountable travel and hotel details over an intranet. Each customer will receive a personalised system. The scheme works by linking SMEs with GetThere's Exchange platform - a Web-based system connecting airlines, hotel and car rental with buyers in real-time.
