Vodafone in Lycos takeover rumours

NEWS UK mobile phone giant Vodafone AirTouch is poised to buy US-based Internet portal Lycos, according to industry speculation. The deal would see the two companies establish a multi-access Internet portal, which would allow customers access to the Internet through mobile phones. Lycos is valued at more than $10bn. Vodafone and Lycos have both declined to comment.
