Life software launch cut price in-car navigation system

By Julian Goldsmith, 19 May 2000 17:57

NEWS Life software has launched an in-car GPS navigation system, which it claims is priced significantly below its rival's products. The company claims it is able to keep the price of the system to below £200 because it runs on a user's existing portable PC. Called the Route Master Satellite, the package comprises a database of Ordinance Survey specification maps and street names, a portable GPS receiver and a serial port interface. The system can be configured to compute the shortest, quickest or cheapest route
